instead of trading away his power, magnus strikes a bargain with his father: in 100 years he’ll come back to edom to stay and rule for 1,000 years.
(it won’t matter by then, he tells himself. alec will be dead of old age and any future after that point fades to an inky darkness he’s not willing to push past)
magnus comes back, saves alec, blasts the demon right out of jace. and each and every time alec asks how he got asmodeus to help, magnus deflects. alec is persistent but magnus is old and with age comes experience. eventually the topic fades and alec stops asking.
he asks a different question instead and soon they’re married.
and it’s all going exactly to plan (some people have 5 year plans, magnus thinks in either days or decades) until the day he’s working on a rejuvenating potion and inadvertently discovers the key to immortality.
alec is ecstatic.
magnus feels the dread coiling deep in his stomach because how is he supposed to tell alec that sometime in the not-so-distant future, he’s going to go away to edom and not come back for a very long time.
Tumblr wants to take away all adult content on the platform, abandoning a large majority of it’s userbase which uses the site for this exact matter. Please sign the above petition if you would like to keep tumblr the way it is. They need to be shown that they will lose a HUGE amount of their traffic if they’re too carry this through.
