Anyone have any experience working with Anubis?
Asking for a friend…No really, I am considering asking him to help me with some shadow work but I kinda want to know what he’s like before I
botherreach out to him and ask if he wants to help me. Also I have never really interacted with another deity aside from the Abrahamic God many many years ago before I left christianity so….Anyone? Help a witchy out.

Anubis is very gentle and kind.
In my experience, He is really good at communicating through tarot. I have a specific tarot deck dedicated to Him that I keep on His shrine and only use if I am trying to speak to Him and occasionally other kemetic deities.
He likes pets, especially dogs. He protects and heals my dog whenever I need help. He will willingly help you with any magic of protection for your pets or spells you do with your familiar.
Even though He can be the silent type, He prefers that you talk to Him and communicate with Him as often as you can. He appreciates prayers and offerings, but He wants you to confide in Him personally as well.
He’s like a kind, serious older brother who also happens to be a powerful, ancient deity. He does have a fierce side like all deities, but I have yet to see it personally. I think His anger is reserved for cases of isfet.
He is not very particular about offerings, I give Him anything from cold beer and part of my meal to natron and feathers. The only preference I’ve noticed is that He seems to like variety in His offerings? He likes offerings only as thanks and not as a substitute for communication or interaction.
I haven’t done shadow work with Him. My relationship with Anubis is more like that of a patron deity and devotee at the moment. Though I bet He would be great for shadow work because He is a Key-Holder and Lord of Light, but also wonderfully helpful to those who are lost and imperfect.
Even though He is a death deity, don’t be fooled. He loves and protects life. Overall, He is soft and I’ve never had a bad or scary experience with Him. Plus, He is brutally honest, something you want in shadow work.
This made me so happy.
