Knew it was gonna be a dumpster fire.

Still, I never thought they would do what they did to Allura.

I unfortunately expected them to disregard everything they’d done to Lance and what he’s been through.

And really, all of them were done a disservice in some way.

Friends, we always pull shit out of the fire. Our fanon universe is so much more interesting and rich. We care about these characters so much and we do our best to treat them and every aspect of them with respect and love. I started shipping Klance long before I saw the show because the art and the writing and everything about it was done with such care and beauty.

WE keep ships, hell, entire FANDOMS alive by actively ignoring Canon. We’ve done it for years and we will continue to do so. Keep fighting for better rep. Keep fighting for better writing. But always remember it’s US who decide when something lives or dies in the worlds we hold in our hearts.

Can you imagine, you’re at a family gathering this holiday season and someone’s like, “Hey Janet, what do you do in your free time?”

“Well, Frank, I routinely log on to social media and tell people what are the appropriate and inappropriate ways to pair completely fictional characters together as couples, and anyone who disagrees with my specific likes and dislikes is labeled a racist. I then send them death threats or call them abuse apologists. I’m really making a difference in this world.”
